Lecture explores local ‘haunts’

Los Angeles Pierce College Extension is offering the lecture, "Poltergeists, Haunted Houses and Spirits: Are They Real?" from 7 to 10 p.m., Fri., Oct. 27.

Led by investigator Richard Senate, this exploration of the true nature of ghosts, poltergeists and haunted mansions will feature a slide show that looks at such locations as Alcatraz, the Queen Mary, and the home of Rudolph Valentino.

The cost is $12. Pierce is at 6201 Winnetka Ave., Woodland Hills.
