Leaders to discuss ‘Culture of Peace’ tonight at Soka

Rev. Zedar E. Broadous, (USN, Ret.), president of the San Fernando Valley branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), will join Stephanie Graham, consultant to the Los Angeles County office of Education on Student Equity and Achievement, and Nancy Volpert, associate director for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for an evening of dialogue and discussion on the "United Nations’ International Year for the Culture of Peace" and how it directly impacts, and applies to education, tolerance and respect for human rights.

Graham is a former teacher and department chairwoman with Las Virgenes Unified School District.

The lecture, which will kick off Soka University’s ninth annual Human Rights Lecture Series, is scheduled for 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight, Thurs., Oct. 26 at Soka’s Calabasas campus, 26800 W. Mulholland Highway. It’s south of the 101 Freeway, just east of Las Virgenes Road.
