Winning week for youth teams

Tailback Grant Oden rolled up more than 292 yards in total offense and ran for four touchdown as the Agoura/Oak Park Eagles beat Simi Valley, 36-14, in youth football league play last weekend.

Oden, a member of the Eagles’ Junior 2 Whites, rushed for 181 yards on seven carries and added an 82-yard punt return. His touchdown runs covered 8, 48 and 90 yards. Trevor Holst and Hunter Baxley led the team in tackles.

The Eagles improved to 4-0 in the Pacific Youth Football League.

n The Junior I Golds won a battle of unbeatens whey they shut out Ventura, 26-0, to take over first place in the youth league. Chad Standrowicz threw two touchdown passes to Kyle Benton, including a 45-yard halfback pass. Rick Maybery and James Hession also scored touchdowns.

Agoura leads the Junior I division in defense by allowing only 4.5 points per game.

n The Junior I Whites beat Thousand Oaks, 26-6, with two, first-half touchdown runs by Todd Dilando. Kevin Clifford added a touchdown pass and Zack Gerson had a touchdown run.

Nick O’Brien recovered a fumble deep in Thousand Oaks territory that led to Gerson’s 16-yard score.

n The Bantam Blues won their fourth straight game with a 30-6 win over Santa Clarita.

Sean McNamara scored a 45-yard touchdown, Schyler Holst had a five-yard touchdown and Clayton Pensanti had a 27-yard touchdown. Devin Talavera threw a 16-yard pass to Kevin Hansen for another Eagle score.

n The Bantam Whites beat Simi Valley, 22-6, on the strength of Steven Mehr’s 35-yard touchdown run. Sean Lane and Justin Romano added touchdown runs for the Eagles.

The Eagle home games are Saturdays at the Agoura High football stadium.
