Logo inconsistent with Agoura Hills

As I read the article regarding Agoura Hills’ new logo I had to chuckle. First of all, I feel that the oak leaf should be replaced with a silhouette of the Home Depot at sunset. The rolling hills seem somewhat naked without power lines and billboards in bas relief.

To quote Dave Anderson "…find a logo which …effectively distinguishes this city from other surrounding cities."

This logo will not do that.

What has effectively distinguished Agoura Hills from its surrounding cities is the slumlike look of Agoura Hills as viewed from the freeway. Also, the thought of putting in grotesque unwanted buildings in the most rural sections of Agoura "conveys the unique characteristics of our city."

These city officials patting themselves on the back for agreeing on a logo are the same city officials wanting to rip out the soul of Agoura for an unwanted and unnecessary Home Depot and/or Target store.

We drive out of Agoura Hills for good taste, we can drive out of Agoura Hills for Home Depot.
