Organists to celebrate

"Pipes Spectacular," commemorating the 250th anniversary of the death of Johann Sebastian Bach, will be one of 200 nationwide concerts celebrating the historic and evolving roles of the pipe organ.

The concert, beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Sun. Oct. 15 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1600 E. Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks, will include organists from the sponsoring Ventura County Chapter of the American Guild of Organists; pianist Tiffany Chen, Discovery Artist of 2000-2001; and the church’s Chancel Choir conducted by Howard Sonstegard.

Suggested donations are $10 adults; $5 for children and students; $25 per family.
