Chabad to conduct Yom Kippur services

The rabbis of Chabad of the Conejo invite all Jews to attend Yom Kippur services which begin 6:15 p.m. on Sun., Oct. 8 with the Kol Nidre service. Services continue at 9:30 a.m. on Mon., Oct. 9, with the Yizkor memorial service at noon, the Neilah service at 5 p.m. and the Yom Kippur fast ending 7:15 p.m..

Services will be at Hyatt Westlake Plaza Hotel, 880 S. Westlake Blvd.; at Willow Elementary School, 29026 Laro Drive, Agoura Hills; and at Chabad Center, 741 Lakefield Road, Ste. D, Westlake Village.

A junior congregation for children will teach about the significance of the day. Songs and prayers for Yom Kippur are also planned.

It’s the tradition of Chabad to close the Neilah (closing prayers of the High Holidays) with "tremendous joy and singing in the Chassidic spirit."

Refreshments will be served following the fast.
