Painting classes offered

Artists interested in an opportunity to try their hands at "plein air (open air)" painting may enroll in a class offered by Los Angeles Pierce College Extension from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 12 through Nov. 16.

Participants will study color, composition, perspective and light/shade while painting on the bucolic tree-shaded campus at 6201 Winnetka Ave., Woodland Hills.

Class instructor Jacqueline Haslett, M.A., is a painter, muralist and art teacher whose work is represented in public and private collections.

Registration for this course is $57 plus a $45 supply fee.
