Fall workshops coming to Will Geer

The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum is offering drama workshops for youth this fall.

Youth Drama Workshop: Acting/Playwriting/Performing for ages 9-14 meets 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays for 10 weeks beginning Sept. 23 and culminating in a performance on Dec. 2. Students work as a team to write a one-act play developed through improvisation, and also study Shakespeare for text appreciation and fun.

High School Drama Series Fall Workshop will focus on "Commedia to Improv" in this class for high schoolers. It will run from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturdays, Oct. 7-Dec. 7, culminating in a class performance. It will focus on improvisation, tracing it back to its roots in Commedia dell’arte.

Classes are at the outdoor amphitheatre of Theatricum Botanicum in the Santa Monica Mountains of Topanga at 1419 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd.
