      A car window was shattered ($250 damage) and a purse valued at $30 was stolen along with $15 cash. The vehicle burglary occurred on a Mulholland Highway turnout (one mile north of the 35300 block) between 11:30 p.m. June 24 and 1 p.m. June 25. A male later returned the purse to its rightful owner, but the cash remained missing.

Ranger honored for DUI effort
      Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) recently recognized selected peace officers and prosecutors from throughout California for their outstanding work in combating driving under the influence (DUI). The special awards banquet was in Sacramento.
