Disagrees with Acorn columnist on the world of womens’ sports

This is in response to an article appearing in your June 1 Acorn. It was titled "There Goes the Neighborhood" by Jason Love.

I will not get into long stories or arguments, but Jason Love doesn’t know a thing about very much. And here is why.

The first area I would like to talk about is women in sports.

What one must first realize [is] that baseball today in the major leagues is not at all what it was at one time. Baseball is a "team" sport and today in the majors it’s played on an individual basis. The Reds and Yanks of old would dominate these teams today. First on talent, then on basic laws of the game.

And if I had a son who wanted to play pro baseball, I would have him watch and understand perhaps how the UCLA women’s softball team plays together.

Every move from pitching to fielding to hitting the relay man or woman in this case is executed perfectly. Remember technique is everything; remember Goliath and Samson. If you were able to ask Ted Williams or Willie Mays, they would say the same.

The guys in pro baseball today are just sluggers or great pitchers and that’s where it ends.

Lady golfers again show the world how the game is really played. Great swings, great tempo, character on the course and the list goes on.

Jason, if you don’t see this how in the world can you and I quote "I’ll pray for a female God if you invent one for me. The male God has had his chance and blown it." No, Jason, you have blown it. Open your eyes and educate yourself.

Lower the basket in ladies basketball and shorten the court they will dazzle you. They are not 7 ft. tall.
