‘No’ to new stores
      I wholeheartedly agree with Kelly Pryor and Joseph Windsor (Letters, June 15) that the last thing this community needs is another large commercial development that will put existing, community-supporting independent businesses out of commission, increase the traffic load (and the smog), and destroy yet more undeveloped natural environment that provides habitat for our local wildlife and beauty for our enjoyment.

Boardmember says consumers deserve a break on water bills
      The Las Virgenes Water District (LVMWD) reports retained earnings of $18,032,675 for June 30, 2000. This rather respectable sum has been allocated to several needs of the District, but none has been allocated to rate relief of its customers.
