New ER is patient-ready at Los Robles
     LISA ADAMS/The Acorn JUST IN CASE - Dr. Richard Benedon, Los Robles Regional Medical Center emergency room physician, treats Brentwood resident Larry Angel for a wrist injury Tuesday morning last week, during the very first few hours that the new emergency facilities were open. Angel sustained the injury during a kickboxing class. As he was traveling to work at Amgen, he decided the pain was too intense to ignore, so he stopped at the new ER. The facility is the first of a multi-phase $6.5 million expansion. It's now about 12,000 square feet with 23 beds, tripling in size, and includes three state-of-the-art trauma rooms. In case of disaster, it will open into one giant treatment area.
