Around the World with ’Take
Your Acorn on Vacation’

PARASOL PRETTYS--Ellen Meloney and Janine Larronde enjoy a bike ride through the campgrounds at Leo Carrillo Beach. The sun-shielded cuties are part of 12 Oak park families that camp-out together annually. Note that Ellen, (left) manages to maintain a straight forward path while she hangs on to the handlebars, holds her umbrella and displays a copy of The Acorn. A very nice job.

CANADIAN EXCURSION--Bob and Barbara Merin vacationed in all three of Canada's Maritime Provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. The Calabasas couple poses here at Cape Breton Island National Park in Nova Scotia..
MARIPOSA PINES--Daniel, Candace, Glen and Robin Infuso visited Yosemite, California in September and said they were amazed at the size of the pine trees. The Westlake Village family happened to have a copy of The Acorn as they took a break while sitting upon this giant log.

JUST PASSING TIME--Rob Bushman of Oak Park reads through a copy of The Acorn while just hanging out in front of Ohura House in Kurashiki, Japan. We don't know whether the Ohura House is a restaurant or hotel, but whichever it is, Rob is sure dressed smartly.
PARIS, FRANCE--Jake Nonnemaker, a Westlake Village resident, spent last September in Europe and particularly enjoyed Paris. With a number of choice spots for his photo with The Acorn, the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France, he decided, was about a good as you can get.

SEVEN FAMILIES DO A SLEEP-OVER--An end-of-summer camping trip to Rancho Oso-north of Santa Barbara turned out to be a terrific idea for seven area families. Four are from Agoura Hills and one each from Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Oxnard. The equipment list even included a copy of The Acorn for this swell scrapbook photo. Left to right: Viktoria Cummings, Ally Piper, Stevie Gatlin, Nikki Piper, Niki Cummings and Alex Amaki. Middle: Michael Amaki, Gerard, Richard and Brenden Poutier and Shopha and Rachel Hill. Back row includes Rena Piper, Helen Poutier, Nance Gatlin, Brigitte and Rich Poutier, Brian, Sean and Betty Fitzwilliam, Cecilia and Ed Cummings, Jon and Cynthia Hill and John Amaki.
MEDEA CREEK STUDENT IN CHINA--Mike Sera, 13-years-old and a resident of Agoura, says he lugged a copy of The Acorn half-way around the world for "Take Your Acorn on Vacation" pictures. This one was snapped at the zoo in Bejing, China. Grandmother Joyce Levitas was Mike's traveling companion.

APPRECIATING FINE ART--Nelly and Romeo Salazar pose with The Acorn in front of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia. The Westlake Village couple enjoyed an April sweep of Northern Europe and visited art museums to see the artwork of Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci and major French impressionists.
THE GORELICKS DO THE LOUVRE--Departing from their home in Agoura Hills, Sharon and Seymour Gorelick visited Paris, France in October. Of course it was a must that they have a picture taken while holding The Acorn and standing in front of the statue of Venus de Milo.

GREAT WALL OF CHINA--These travelers from Westlake Village, Yanyan Xie, William Tudor and Didi Yan, pose with The Acorn on the roadway that runs along the top of The Great Wall of China. Completed in the Third Century, the structure spans 2,000 miles. Chinese emporers built the wall as a defense against the nomads of the region, including those from Mongolia and Manchuria.
