Special Olympics seeks volunteers

I am the sort of person who’s always looking for volunteer work. I recently discovered an organization that has been around for over 30 years. The Special Olympics organization (started by Eunice Kennedy Shriver in 1968) is the most amazing and heartwarming group. The year-round sports program offered to children and adults is spectacular.

The Tri-Valley office (which covers Agoura, Calabasas, San Fernando Valley and Burbank) is in need of volunteers. People looking to serve as coaches are also encouraged to get involved.

The pride and joy I feel as a volunteer working with these families is overwhelming. The smiles on the faces of the participants make it all worthwhile.

Paul Meyers, director of the Tri-Valley office, can answer other questions you may have. You can reach him by calling (818) 342-0017.
