Red Cross to teach students

The American Red Cross of Ventura County Youth Emergency Services Clubs and Rio Mesa High School will provide free safety training to students in grades three to five on Sat., March 6 at the Rio Mesa High School gymnasium, 545 Central Ave., Oxnard. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and event programs begin at 9 a.m. Local area youth will be trained in babysitting skills, rescue breathing, water safety, fire safety and home-alone skills. Snacks will be provided but participants are asked to bring their own brown bag lunch.

This free Safe Kids Training is made possible by grants received from the Ventura County Community Foundation, the Martin V. and Martha K. Smith Foundation and donations by the public to the American Red Cross of Ventura County. Space is limited. Call Lela Diaz at (805) 339-2234, ext. 280 to pre-register.
