Acorn starts up new Simi Valley edition

The first Simi Valley Acorn will be delivered on Friday to 25,000 homes and businesses in Simi Valley. It becomes the fourth publication in The Acorn family of free newspapers. In addition to the one you’re reading, The Acorn also publishes the Thousand Oaks Acorn and the Moorpark Acorn. The Acorn and the Thousand Oaks Acorn are distributed each week on Thursdays and the Moorpark Acorn and Simi Valley Acorn will be distributed on Fridays.

"We’re excited to serve the Simi Valley community," said James Rule, publisher. "The Simi Valley Acorn will continue The Acorn Newspapers’ tradition of local coverage that our readers and advertisers enjoy."

John Loesing, editor of the Thousand Oaks Acorn, will serve dual roles and also be editor of the Simi Valley Acorn.

The total circulation of The Acorn Newspapers now exceeds 105,000.
