celebrates crafts

Did you know that 80 percent of families include a crafter? They scrapbook, knit, bead and paint while enjoying the benefits of crafting, which range from relaxation to higher self-esteem.

To help spread the word on crafting, the Hobby Industry Association (HIA) sponsors National Craft Month every March.

In celebration, craft retailers around the country will offer special classes, demonstrations, tips and projects throughout the whole month to get customers involved.

National Craft Month will culminate on Sat., March 27 with a one-day event called "Look! I Made It Myself . . . A Kid’s Craft Day." Craft and hobby retailers will offer a variety of fun-filled craft activities so that everyone can discover the pleasures of crafting.
