Klessig would make an excellent city councilwoman

I have never written a letter to The Acorn before but, as a 15-year resident of the city of Westlake Village, I want to show why I am giving my support to Philippa Klessig for city council.

When we moved here we brought our business with us. We had many dealings with the city council and were always impressed with the respect and teamwork shown by the entire council for the community and for each other.

Westlake Village councils have always risen above personal animosities and divisiveness. However, in the last few years I have noted that a few council members have shown a definite agenda. It appears to be political ambition or ego. A council member is elected to make well-thought-out decisions based on the needs of the whole city vs. a particular group or neighborhood.

Klessig has been an involved member of this community for 14 years. She is a businesswoman who is a logical thinker, wants to hear every side and make a decision based on the better good.

Recently I have heard a candidate taking credit for actions already decided by the city council. Some of these decisions have been in the process for many years. I’m asking all the voters in Westlake Village to not just rely on candidates’ rhetoric or written material.

Get to know each candidate so you can make an informed decision. I know you’ll agree that Philippa Klessig will be an excellent councilwoman.
