Reverses his endorsement

I was involved with the Agoura Chamber for almost two years and worked closely with Alex Soteras on a group project for one year, ending recently. I wrote a letter to The Acorn supporting Alex’s cwandidacy a few months ago, but now recant.

After my letter, Alex continually referred to several conscientious chamber volunteers who I worked closely with as "morons and flakes."

When confronted about his behavior, he did not apologize or address the issue; instead, he characterized certain managers of the Renaissance Hotel as "liars and cheats." I have heard him impugn the integrity of local business-people to third parties.

His publicized pro-environment stance is inconsistent with his frequently expressed disapproval of the city council for being hard on real estate developers.

I agree with Mr. Wolf’s letter printed Oct. 9. I also find that the chamber has become a vehicle for handing out certificates and providing photo opportunities.

It is important for voters to judge a candidate’s character as well as his consistency on the issues.
