     I read, with interest, the letter by Mr. Raser (The Acorn, Oct. 9) regarding the "cute photo" of Mesa, the coyote. I must admit to ambivalent emotions about these predators, having lost two beloved cats over the past four years to their hunting instincts.

     I would like to believe that the same city council that gave us apartment buildings in place of the only 24-hour coffee shop in Agoura opted to take the "exception to Measure H" question off of the November ballot out of good judgment.

     A serious omission in the Oct. 2 story about the retirement of Ray Phillips deserves to be pointed out. Mrs. Kay Beachy, a San Fernando Valley civic leader, put up the purchase price of $240,000 to save the Leonis Adobe from the scheduled tear-down and replacement by a shopping center.

     I am disappointed that The Acorn has resumed printing advertisements for pet stores. Ironically, you put these ads on the same page as the "Pet of the Week" featuring one of the hundreds of pets currently at the Agoura Animal Shelter which needs a home.
