‘Vision van’ to visit Thousand Oaks

Mobile Solutions, a specialized van that brings Braille Institute’s programs and services to people who can’t travel to the Santa Barbara Regional Center, will be making a Conejo Valley stop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fri., Oct. 31 at Goebel Senior Center, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

The Mobile Solutions van is equipped with high-powered magnifiers, closed-circuit televisions and other adaptive equipment to help maximize remaining vision.

The van also features displays of items available at Braille Institute’s Vistas Store, such as adaptive kitchen utensils and talking watches.

Potential clients also can get free low-vision consultations, learn more abut Braille Institute’s Library Services, and qualified patrons can enroll to get talking books.
