Toastmasters to showcase great speeches

Two local Toastmasters clubs, the Conejo Valley Toastmasters and the Daybreakers of Westlake, will be offering a public showcase of advanced speeches from 7:45 to 10 p.m. Sat., Oct 18 at Saturn of Thousand Oaks, 3440 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

The "Speech-a-Thon" will feature members who have practiced and delivered 10 or more speeches at their respective clubs. All speeches are from the Toastmasters International Advanced Communication and Leadership Manuals.

"This Speech-a-Thon is an opportunity for people to hear some great speeches and see the many benefits of the Toastmasters program with their own eyes," said Claudine Phillips, president of the Conejo Valley Toastmasters.

Regular meetings of the Conejo Valley Toastmasters Club are 7:30-9:30 p.m. Monday nights at the Baxter Building, One Baxter Way, Thousand Oaks.

Regular meetings of the Daybreakers of Westlake are 6:30 to 8 a.m. Wednesday mornings at the Los Robles Hospital, East Campus, 150 Via Merida, Westlake Village. For more information, visit www.daybreakers.org.
