T.O. woman gets five-year sentence

Ventura County Superior Court sentenced a Thousand Oaks woman to five years in prison for stealing more than $400,000 from a Westlake Village real estate management company where she worked.

Julie Trimble, a 43-year-old bookkeeper, pleaded guilty to the grand theft charges last year, but sentencing was delayed because of a medical condition.

On Oct. 7, Ventura County Dep. District Attorney Howard Wise had Trimble’s bail revoked because, he said, she had falsified a physician’s note.

Wise declined to identify Trimble’s condition.

The woman stole the money from Westcord Commercial Real Estate Services, a real estate management company in Westlake Village, Wise said.

"What she did was to use checks to make unauthorized payments to herself and in the name of her husband," he said.

The thefts took place between 1994 and 1999.

Judge Bruce Clark ordered Trimble to pay $482,000 in restitution to Westcord.

Trimble pleaded guilty to similar grand theft charges in Los Angeles County, Wise said.
