Macbeth meets Mad Max

The last performance will be at 5 p.m. Sat., Aug. 3 in Grape Arbor Park, Canwood and Parkville, Calabasas

Gothic Productions’ annual "Classics in the Park" is taking the phase "let’s take this show on the road" pretty far.

It’s staged the Shakespearean tragedy "Macbeth"— its 12th summer season offering—in a "Road Warrior" type concept, setting the play in a post-apocalyptic environment.

The production is produced by Michael Jordan and directed by Irene Silbert. The play deals with vaulting ambition and an overpowering conscience. In the show, conscience, fear and guilt haunt unrestrained ambition and power.

What happens when murder is committed? The evil which breeds blood is explored in this great Shakespearean Tragedy, a 400-year-old play that speaks to contemporary times.

Blankets or low chairs are recommended. The play runs about 1 hour 45 minutes with no intermission.

For more information contact Michael Jordan at (818) 991-1207 or Irene Silbert at (805) 526-4132, or check out the Internet Website at www.gothicproductions.net. Donations are requested at all productions.
