Follow Futtermen to feast Hilla Futterman will teach "Wild Foods in the Summer," a course that informs participants on identification, preparation and storage of edible wild plants found in the Santa Monica Mountains, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, Aug. 3 and 10, at Los Angeles Pierce College Extension, 6201 Winnetka Ave., Woodland Hills. Topics will also include information on how the early settlers and Native Americans searched for and discovered wild food. Participants will also learn about the current uses, practical and medicinal benefits of the edible plants. Futterman has taught "The Identification and Uses of Wild Plants" for 18 years.
