CVUSD gets state money for school libraries

State Sen. Jack O’Connell (D-San Luis Obispo) announced recently that the State Allocation Board (SAB) has approved $79,201 in state funds for libraries in Conejo Valley Unified School District.

O’Connell is a member of the SAB, which oversees the distribution of construction, modernization and hardship funds for schools throughout the state.

"We have a tidal wave of new students knocking on the schoolhouse doors into the nest decade," said O’Connell. "We must have adequate facilities to serve them, and providing districts with joint use projects like gymnasiums, multipurpose rooms and libraries gives schools the necessary facilities to be effective."

O’Connell said the SAB approved about $28 million for joint use projects throughout the state.
