Waxman to speak on Sunday

U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Los Angeles) will make his first public appearance in his newly redrawn district at 7 p.m. Sun., Aug. 4 at the Renaissance Hotel, 30100 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills. Temple Beth Haverim, along with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and B’nai Brith Haverim are hosting his visit. Admission is free.

According to the sponsoring organizations, Waxman "is currently the ranking member of the House Government Reform Committee and has earned a reputation of being an expert on Middle East policy. His newly redrawn district is home to one of the largest Jewish populations in districts of the U.S. House of Representatives.
