White Oak hopes to see green at fundraiser

White Oak Elementary School, Westlake Village, will be "Seeing Green at the Canyon Club" in a special fundraising event on Sun., March 17 at the Canyon Club Dinner Theatre, 28912 Roadside Drive, Agoura Hills. Doors will open 6:30 p.m. and entertainment gets underway at 8 p.m.

Sponsored by the school’s Parent Faculty Club, the event will feature a no-risk Las Vegas-style casino night plus a silent auction, prize drawings and more.

Entertainment will be provided by the comedy team of Mack & Jamie and the high-energy rhythm and blues/soul band, Jack Mack & the Heart Attack. Mack & Jamie have appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," performed with well-known headliners including Diana Ross, appeared on stage in Las Vegas, Atlantic City as well as abroad. Jamie Alcroft is a Westlake Village resident.

Living up to their name, Jack Mack & the Heart Attack, despite celebrating their 20th anniversary, are still known for their "groove-‘til-you-sweat, dance-‘til-you-drop performances." Vocalist Mark Campbell, leader singer for Jack Mack throughout the mid-80s and early 90s, returns to the lineup of stellar musicians "bringing his powerful blue-eyed soul vocal styles back to the band."

"Seeing Green…" is being organized to support quality educational programs for White Oak children. Through events like this, White Oak PFC is able to fund extended library hours, music, computer and P.E. programs at the school. They also bring assembles and an art docent program to all grades.

All monies raised from this event go directly back into the school. For ticket information, please call the Canyon Club at (818) 879-5016 or visit the Web site at www.canyonclub.net. Tickets are also available through TicketMaster at (805) 583-8700.
