Agoura Hills councilmembers should look
in a mirror
I’m impressed at the grassroots effort that helped to bring a well-earned and righteous victory to Measure H.

As a 19-year resident of Agoura Hills, I look forward to the dawning of a new day where the residents have a greater input in the planning and development of our community. I’m rather concerned to read Mayor Denis Weber’s statement, "To say I am disappointed is an understatement."

What’s the true essence of his disappointment? Whose agenda is city hall serving: the residents, the developer or the retailer? And why wasn’t the preliminary Environmental Impact Report made public? Non-disclosure of this vital information is disconcerting at best and warrants further investigation.

The councilmembers need to reevaluate their loyalties, ethics and veracity.

There’s a nationwide trend to protect the integrity of the land and existing small businesses of smaller rural communities and Agoura Hills is no exception.

As the old adage states, "We didn’t inherit the land from our parents … we are borrowing it from our children."
