Free lecture explores ways to strengthen family unit

Kevin S. Hamilton, president of the Newbury Park Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak on "Five Keys for Making Your Family Stronger" at 7 p.m. on Sun., March 17 at the Newbury Park Stake Center, 35 S. Wendy Drive, Newbury Park.

Hamilton oversees the spiritual needs of more than 2,800 members in the communities of Agoura Hills, Newbury Park, Oak Park and Westlake Village. A father of six, he has been married 23 years.

"Raising children in today’s challenging times requires new tools, skills and understanding. We cannot expect to accomplish our goals as families and parents without turning to God for guidance and inspiration," said Hamilton. "If you truly believe that the family is the central unit of God’s plan for his children, then you will do everything possible to strengthen your family and make it a success."

The 45-minute program, open free to the community at large, will include music and light refreshments.
