Thousand Oaks branch of AAUW to host major auction

The Thousand Oaks branch of American Association of University Women (AAUW) will be hosting a garden party/art auction and sale beginning 12:30 p.m. on Sun., April 28 at Los Robles Golf Course Banquet and Community Center, 299 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

Tickets are now on sale for $18 each, including hors d’oeuvres and complimentary wine and beverages. Music will be provided by local entertainers. There will be door prizes and a hat contest, with prizes given for the prettiest and most unusual hats.

Donations of art are being solicited for the oral auction at 2 p.m. as well as art-related and other items for the silent auction. Artists who donate a piece of art for the auctions will be invited to bring one to three other items for sale, with 80 percent of the proceeds going to the artist.
