Last year in California 1,233 people were killed and more than 30,000 injured in alcohol-related crashes—nearly 4 percent over 1999, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS).

Christmas causes early deadlines
      Christmas will force the Acorn newspapers into early deadlines for the issues of Dec. 27 and Jan. 3. Basically, all deadlines advance by 24 hours. Real estate deadlines for next week’s edition will be noon today Thurs., Dec. 20. Noon tomorrow, Fri., Dec. 21, is the deadline for display advertising. Thank you for your cooperation.
