Riverwalk developer changes course

      Los Angeles-based J.H. Snyder Co. proposed new plans last week for the Agoura Riverwalk, a 40-acre development that would include restaurants, offices, apartments and open space just north of the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills.

Homeowners’ group is waiting, they say, for the YMCA

      In response to the Triunfo YMCA wanting to move as quickly as possible on a land swap deal with Westlake Canyon Oaks Home-owners’ Association (HOA) to enable a new facility to be built, HOA president Scott Yanke said they’re waiting on the Y. After numerous propositions and meetings between the two groups, a deal still hasn’t been made.

Oak Park enrollment exceeds district expectations

      Oak Park Unified School District (OPUSD) has higher than expected enrollment this fall. This is the first time in two years that the projection fell short of actual figures. In February, OPUSD annually predicts the number of students for the following academic year.

Westlake firm shows its
true colors

      Like most American citizens, Paula Weiser wanted to do her part for the New York City disaster relief effort. Driving back from a meeting in Ventura two days after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the 36-year-old owner of a Westlake Village printing company decided she would make a patriotic poster to donate to local businesses—not a big deal, just something to put in a few windows and storefronts. She made a call to her office and told her employees to begin brainstorming. Today, phones are ringing off the hook over the poster.
