Chabad of Conejo to hold High Holiday services at Hyatt Westlake Plaza Hotel

The Jewish High Holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur will be observed in September. Rosh Hashanah will be celebrated from Mon. through Wed. evenings, Sept. 17 to 19. Yom Kippur begins the evening of Wed., Sept. 26 and concludes the following evening.

Chabad of the Conejo, which has four synagogues and 10 Rabbis in the Conejo Valley, will hold its High Holiday services at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza Hotel. The 8,000 sq. ft. grand ballroom of the Hyatt will be transformed into a huge sanctuary for the holidays. The remaining hotel boardrooms will be utilized for the Junior Congregation sessions.

The traditional service is blended with contemporary and "meaningful insights," making the High Holidays "a bond with the past and an inspiration for the future," according to Chabad. Insights into many of the prayers and customs will be explained during services, which are open to all Jews.

There are no membership fees or prior affiliation necessary to attend services or any program at Chabad. Hebrew-English prayerbooks (Machzorim) will be provided. A full staff of educators and Rabbinical students will be conducting Junior Congregation. The children’s program includes prayers, stories, songs, contests, prizes and refreshments.

To reserve a seat for the High Holiday service, please call Chabad at (818) 991-0991. In addition to the services, special arrangements have been made to accommodate those interested in spending the days of Rosh Hashanah and/or Yom Kippur at the hotel for a "High Holiday Retreat." For details and reservations on the "Retreat" and for further information on the holidays, please call Chabad.
