Agoura Hills City Council approves hotel plan despite an appeal

      The Agoura Hills City Council reversed an appeal and agreed last week to let developers build a 94-room Hampton Inn in the city. Located on the north side of Agoura Road just west of Reyes Adobe Road, the 52,000 square-foot hotel received planning commission approval in June.

Local roadway becomes
a scenic highway

      Motorists who take the scenic drive from Calabasas to the Pacific Ocean on Malibu Canyon Road have known for years how special the trip can be. Now, under a bill currently working its way through the California legislature, the portion of the Los Angeles County road from the Calabasas city limit to the Malibu city limit will be designated as an official scenic highway. Assembly Bill 1070 authorizes the California Department of Transportation to apply scenic highway status to seven miles of the winding road from Lost Hills Road in Calabasas to the Malibu border.
