Having fun with math at Westlake High

PI DAY RALLY––Chris Whitney, a 17-year-old student at Westlake High School, won the Pie Eating Contest at last week’s Pi Day event at the school. The math department sponsored activities for the entire school in honor of Pi Day. The theme was "Getting to know Famous Mathematicians" and the rally included a limbo contest, dressing like a famous mathematician and, of course, pie eating. The students’ parents probably don’t remember arithmetic being so much fun (or tasty).
