The Oak Park girls’ soccer team defeated La Reina last Friday, 4-3, in a game played in Thousand Oaks. The win was the second of the season against the Regents. Last year, the Eagles and La Reina shared the Tri-Valley League championship.

Oak Park’s most recent win over the Regents should secure another title for the Eagles.

In the win, Courtney Crane scored two goals for the second time this year vs. La Reina. And Amy Poyer, who didn’t play most of the game due to bronchitis, tallied the winning goal.

Eagle coach Ted Eggleston inserted Poyer into the game with about 10 minutes remaining. She responded by scoring the go-ahead goal, then again came back to the sideline.

Ashley Walsh also scored for Oak Park, which improved to 8-0 in league play with Carpinteria and Fillmore left to play beginning this week.

La Reina fell to 5-2 league play.
