Home-schooling subject of program

Parents interested in home schooling are invited to attend an orientation and open house at the Jewish Community Library of Los Angeles (JCLLA)/Slavin Family Children’s Library from noon to 1 p.m. on Thurs., Feb. 22 to learn more about the wide variety of resources available for this educational approach. Children are welcome to attend.

Storyteller and home schooler Karen Golden will present a brief program following an introduction and resource orientation provided by JCLLA Director Abigail Yasgur. Participants then will have the opportunity to explore the extensive collection of children’s literature and other teaching resources at the library.

As a follow-up to the home schooling event, Golden will offer a "Telling Stories" home schooling class for ages 5-7 from 1-2 p.m. every Wednesday beginning in March.
