Red Cross courses available in T.O.

The Ventura County Chapter of the American Red Cross will present the following courses on Sat., Feb. 24 at the Conejo Community Center, 1300 Hendrix Ave., Thousand Oaks:

Adult CPR: a 4-hour course that teaches rescuers how to treat cardiac emergencies, breathing emergencies and choking. Runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost $28.

Workplace Standard First Aid: a course designed to meet and exceed OSHA guidelines for the workplace and includes CPR training. Runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the cost is $38.

First Aid Basics: a three-hour course that teaches techniques for recognizing sudden illness and treating shock, burns, heat/cold emergencies, poisoning, bites, stings, broken bones and bleeding. Runs from 1 to 4:30 p.m. with a cost of $28.
