JVS offers guidance for older workers Ever wondered how much your age affects how you plan your career, how you’re viewed by potential employers and how you’re perceived in the workplace? As most of the workforce approaches the 50+ age range, many are re-thinking traditional retirement paths and others are embarking on new careers for personal fulfillment or from economic necessity. Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) is offering a new program called "Reset Your Career Clock" that offers guidance and strategic solutions for them. Participants in this low-cost series will also get help in developing a plan to meet their career and financial needs and information on starting their own business. The curriculum includes: "Assessing Your Strengths," "Examining New Career Options" and "How to Age-Proof Your Job Search." The six-week workshop-style program meets from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, at JVS, 22622 Vanowen St., West Hills. Workshops will be facilitated by a career counselor, financial planners and experts on employment and small business administration. For more information, please call Shelley or Ellen at (818) 464-3222. |
