Contestants sought for upcoming pageant

Contestants are being sought for the fifth annual Mrs. California United Nation Pageant 2001. Married women from across California will compete March 24-25 in Westlake Village for the title. Contestants in the state pageant will compete in interview, evening gown and tennis wear. Ten percent of their score is based on their community involvement.

No experience is necessary. Each woman selected to represent her city or county will receive an official crown and banner. The winner of the Mrs. California United Nation Pageant will go on to the National Finals in Indian Wells this July.

The pageant was created by pageant industry veteran Sarah Boothe to show that a woman can manage a family, have a career, support her community and have a successful marriage, all at the same time. According to Boothe, Mrs. United Nation is a "superwoman" who can do it all with elegance and grace, and is judged and selected based on her family values and established family support and love.
