Children can learn about wild animals up close and personal

Imagine meeting a 4-year-old Bengal-Siberian tiger named Jasmine whose best friend is a dog named Cyrano. Jasmine and Cyrano will be the stars of "Wild Things!" at 2 p.m. on Sun., Feb. 11 at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, 2559 Puesta Del Sol Road, Santa Barbara.

Other animal companions appearing in this program from "Zoo to You" presenters David and Anita Jackson include chinchillas; a Spider monkey and Capuchin monkey who "hang out together"; and a Scarlet Macaw and Military Macaw who "pal around."

The Jacksons will share the personal story of each animal and how they came to live with them, their adaptation in the natural world, and their role in the ecosystem. These animals are all rehabilitated and cannot be released back into the wild.

"Wild Things!" is included with museum admission of $6 adults, $5 teens and seniors, $4 children.
