West Valley Ballet to perform ‘The Nutcracker’

"The Nutcracker" will grace the stage of the Cal State University Northridge (CSUN) Performing Arts Center and the Pierce College Performing Arts Center from Dec. 15-30. As presented by the West Valley Ballet Company, this innovative "Nutcracker" will feature the lost, quick-paced "English variation" as well as a new "Hungarian variation" where dueling dancers perform a delightful fun-filled number.

Performances at Pierce College will be in conjunction with the West Valley Symphony Orchestra. This is the dance company’s 19th year of presenting the classic.

Owner/artistic director of the 60-member West Valley Ballet Company is Suzanne Haffamier, a former member of the San Francisco Ballet. Haffamier has taught English at Agoura High School for the past decade.
