Westlake Council reorganizes

The Westlake Village City Council reorganization occurred last week.

The outgoing mayor, Iraj Broomand, announced that Mark Rutherford is the new mayor.

Broomand and Rutherford exchanged seats and Mayor Rutherford announced the new mayor pro tem is Kris Carraway-Bowman.

The Honorable Judge of Malibu Court, Lawrence J. Mira, administered the oath of office to the new mayor and mayor pro tem.

"I am pleased and proud that we accomplished a great deal last year," Broomand. "I foresee no problem in accomplishing as much this year with Mark Rutherford."

Broomand was very happy for Rutherford and said he enjoyed serving as mayor.

"You make sure the city is presented adequately," said Broomand.

The Westlake Village City Council meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at city hall. Meeting are telecast on public access cable.
