Conejo Adult School offers something for everyone

      Conejo Valley Adult School (CVAS) launched the 2000/2001 school year with an eclectic selection of classes and workshops that run the gamut between serious education like GED exams, Microsoft and Cisco systems certification programs, to fun workshops on learning how to make your own sushi or the benefits of aroma therapy.

Red ribbons fly at schools

      Agoura High School students hope to educate fellow students about the dangers of drug use through the annual Red Ribbon Week event which continues at the school through tomorrow, Fri., Oct. 27. Red Ribbon Week will be used to promote drug awareness and public safety. The school will be decorated with red ribbons, bracelets and related items will be handed out.

Proficiency exam planned

      Anyone wanting to complete high school and advance to college or a career may earn the equivalent of a high school diploma through the California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE). The exam is open to anyone 16 or older, whether enrolled in school or not. Those under 16 may take the CHSPE if they have completed 10th grade or are enrolled in the second semester of 10th grade. A Certificate of Proficiency is awarded by the state Board of Education to those who pass the CHSPE.
