Ground breaks on a new library


GETTING READY FOR CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN–Preparing to shovel the first ceremonial turning of earth in preparation for the city of Westlake Village City Hall and Library are (from left to right): City Manager Ray Taylor; Mayor Pro-Tem Mark Rutherford; Armando Gonzalez, the architect; City Councilwoman Kris Carraway-Bowman; Mayor Iraj Broomand; City Councilwoman Betty deSantis and City Councilman Chris Mann. Nearly 100 attended the festivities yesterday morning. The 25,500 square-foot facility (including a 10,000 square-foot library and community rooms) will be located at 31200 Oak Crest Drive. It’s expected to take 12 to 18 months to build.
