Pavley captures key endorsements

Speaker of the state Assembly, Robert M. Hertzberg, and Assemblywoman Sheila Kuehl (D-Santa Monica) have announced their endorsement of 41st Assembly District candidate Fran Pavley.

Pavley served as the first mayor of Agoura Hills and was elected to four terms on the Agoura Hills City Council. She has a master’s degree in environmental planning and has been a public school teacher for 28 years in addition to serving as a city official who has tackled regional transportation, open space and land-use issues.

"[Pavley] is committed to reforming our schools, attracting quality teachers, and increasing local control in education decision-making. I welcome the keen experience and unique knowledge that Fran Pavley will bring to the Assembly," said Hertzberg.

Kuehl, who won the primary election for the 23rd state Senate seat, also endorsed Pavley.

"In an era of term limits, it is essential that we elect someone with years of valuable experience in the issues that are so important to our area — education, local government, traffic and quality of life issues. Fran is the perfect fit for this district," Kuehl said.
