Kidnapping followed by hostage crisis hits Calabasas

      Sheriff’s deputies from the Lost Hills station, as well as detectives from the Sheriff’s Department’s Major Crimes Bureau, a SWAT team and even FBI agents, had their hands full last week when two major crimes – a kidnapping and hostage crisis – shook the normally quiet community of Calabasas.

Westlake Village using courts to gain park

House goes to the big house

      Daniel House, the Agoura Hills man accused of five felony counts of animal cruelty and five misdemeanor counts for sexually assaulting horses, pleaded no contest in Malibu Court last week. House, 55, is expected to be sentenced to four years in state prison when he returns to court later this month, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office said.

The boys joined 21 other teams in Westlake Yacht Club's 7th Annual Sail-a-Thon. The event raised more than $23,500 for donation to Casa Pacifica, Create-a-Smile and the Santa Monica Sailing Foundation.
