Starlab
gets liftoff from GTE donation

Ventura County Discovery Center has been awarded $10,000 by the GTE Foundation to support the organization’s Starlab program. Starlab, a portable planetarium that seats up to 30, was acquired by the Discovery Center two years ago with an initial GTE gift of $30,000.

Starlab is a Discovery Center community outreach program that will continue after the doors of the permanent science center facility open. The nonprofit organization is spearheading efforts to build a 110,000 sq. ft. science and technology center adjacent the Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks.

The center is proposed to include an outdoor science park and IMAX theater.
