Local school district reorganizes its personnel

Las Virgenes Unified School District (LVUSD) is reorganizing its administrative staff for the coming year, with most of the new job titles going to current front office veterans.

Joe Nardo, the district’s director of pupil services, takes on new responsibilities as director of secondary education. Madge Lamb, director of curriculum and instruction, will be LVUSD’s new director of elementary education.

Nardo, who currently oversees LVUSD’s special education program, will be in charge of the five secondary schools in the 12,000-student district. Lamb will oversee LVUSD’s eight elementary schools.

All school principals will be under their command.

"These [changes] will better meet the needs of the students and parents and community at large," said John Fitzpatrick, LVUSD superintendent.

"It’s a needed change."

Jim Christianson, the district’s coordinator of special programs, assumes the title of assistant superintendent for education. Christianson, a 30-year veteran of teaching and administration, was principal at both Agoura and Cala-
